Okay, so I needed to lift my 2020 Honda Accord the other day, and I was like, “Where are the jack points?” It’s not as straightforward as you might think, especially if you’re trying to lift the whole front or back end.

I started by taking a look at the user manual. Honda, in its infinite wisdom, only shows the four jack points on the sides, you know, the ones you’d use to change a tire, one wheel at a time. But I needed to get the whole front end up, because I was doing some work under there.
So, I did some digging around online. I found a few forum posts and some not-so-helpful diagrams. A lot of people were asking the same question: “Is there a central jack point in the front and the rear?” It turns out, yeah, there probably is, but it’s not super obvious, and it’s definitely not in the manual. Honda, why you gotta make it so hard?
Anyway, what I ended up doing was this. First I took the jack and placed it under the front side, where you would normally lift it to change a tire, just like the manual shows. But I didn’t put the jack stands under there.
- I jacked it up just enough to get some clearance.
- I grabbed some 6×6 wood blocks, leftovers from a landscaping project, luckly.
- Then carefully, I lowered the car onto the wood blocks, placing them under the frame, a bit further in from the side jack points.
That gave me enough room to get under the front end and do what I needed to do. I repeated the process for the rear, and it worked out fine. Just be super careful when you’re doing this. Make sure the car is stable on the blocks, and always use jack stands when you’re working under a vehicle. Don’t rely on the jack alone, that’s just asking for trouble.
My Takeaway
It would be nice if Honda made it a bit clearer where the central jack points are. But hey, at least I figured out a way to make it work. I just wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is scratching their head trying to figure out how to lift their Accord. Remember, safety first, and when in doubt, consult a professional!
