Improve Your Game: Mastering the Finish Position in Golf Swing (Easy Guide)

Okay, so today I wanted to work on my golf swing, specifically the finish position. I’ve been slicing the ball a lot lately, and I think it’s because I’m not completing my swing properly. So, I headed out to the driving range to put in some practice.

Improve Your Game: Mastering the Finish Position in Golf Swing (Easy Guide)

Getting Started

First, I warmed up with some stretches. You know, gotta loosen up those muscles before you start swinging away. I did some arm circles, leg swings, and torso twists. Nothing fancy, just enough to get the blood flowing.

Then, I grabbed my 7-iron. It’s a good club for practicing because it’s not too long, not too short. Just right for working on the fundamentals.

The Practice Session

  • I started by taking some slow-motion swings, really focusing on my form. I made sure to keep my eye on the ball (or where the ball would be), rotate my hips, and shift my weight to my front foot.
  • Then, I concentrated on the finish. I wanted to make sure I was ending up in a balanced position, with my chest facing the target and my weight fully on my front foot. My belt buckle should be pointing towards the target, too.
  • I hit a few balls, paying close attention to where they went. I wasn’t too worried about distance at this point, just trying to get the feel of a good, solid finish.
  • I noticed that when I finished properly, the ball tended to go straighter. When I didn’t, it often sliced off to the right. That was a good sign!
  • I keep practice over and over again. It takes time to get used to it.

Wrapping Up

After about an hour, I started to feel a little tired, so I called it a day. I was pretty happy with how the session went, though. I definitely felt like I made some progress with my finish position. I’m going to keep working on it, and hopefully, those slices will start disappearing!

It’s all about practice, practice, practice, right? And paying attention to the little details. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress!
