Okay, so today I decided to look into “Otis Birdsong”. I’d heard the name before, obviously, a basketball player from back in the day, but I didn’t really know much about him. So I started where everyone starts – a quick search online.

First thing I did was type his name into the search bar. You know, just to get the basic info.
The Basic Stuff
- Four-time NBA All-Star. That popped up right away. Pretty impressive.
- Played for the Kansas City Kings, New Jersey Nets, and Boston Celtics. Okay, a solid career, moving around a bit.
- Number 10, mostly. Guard position. Got it.
Then I started digging a little deeper. Found some old game footage. Man, this guy was quick! Smooth moves, great shooter. Really fun to watch, even if the video quality was, you know, vintage.
I spent a good hour just watching highlights and reading some old articles. It’s amazing how much information is out there, some stuff is pretty burry and hard to find, if you put yourself into it and just keep looking, you will find it. I’m always blown away by what these guys could do, especially back then, with less, like, fancy training and technology. It was all raw talent and hard work. I kept going further with it.
I even found some interviews with him. He seems like a really thoughtful, down-to-earth guy. Talked a lot about teamwork and dedication.
It is so much fun to find these interviews of people giving their wisdom and sharing their experince.

So, that’s my Otis Birdsong deep dive for today. It’s pretty cool to just pick a name sometimes and see what you can find. Makes you appreciate the history of the game, and all the players who made it what it is. I learned a lot, and I had fun doing it!
