Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little project today: making a label for my Stanley cup.
First, I brainstormed what I wanted on the label. Did I want my name? A cool design? Maybe a funny quote? I went back and forth for a bit, sketching out a few ideas on a piece of scrap paper.
After some serious deliberation (it felt serious, anyway!), I decided on a simple, minimalist design with my initials. Classy, right?
Next, I grabbed my materials. I had some adhesive vinyl left over from another project, a cutting mat, a craft knife, and of course, my trusty Stanley cup.
Getting Down to Business
I measured the area on my cup where I wanted the label to go. Gotta make sure it fits! Then I used that measurement and sketched the letters on paper. Then cut them out to make a Simple template.
Then I placed the template on top of the vinyl. Carefully, I traced around my letters with the craft knife. This part took a little patience – you don’t want to rush and end up with jagged edges.
Once the letters were cut out, I weeded away the excess vinyl. Basically, that just means I removed all the bits of vinyl that weren’t part of my letters. I used a little weeding tool (you can use a pin or the tip of your craft knife) to get all the tiny pieces.
The Moment of Truth
Now for the fun part! I carefully peeled off the backing of the vinyl, revealing the sticky side. Then, slowly and steadily, I applied the label to my Stanley cup, smoothing it down as I went to avoid any air bubbles.
And…ta-da! My Stanley cup is now officially personalized. It’s a small thing, but it makes me happy every time I look at it. Plus, now nobody at the gym will accidentally grab my cup!
