Best Three Wheel Motorcycle Spyder Options: Comparing Price, Features & More

Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of three-wheeled motorcycles, specifically the Can-Am Spyder. I’ve always been curious about these things – they look like a mix between a motorcycle and a snowmobile, and I wanted to see what they’re all about.

Getting Started

First, I spent some time just looking at pictures and videos online. Gotta get a feel for the beast, right? I watched a few reviews, checked out some owner forums, and generally just tried to soak up as much information as I could before even thinking about getting close to one.

The Real Deal

Then, I found a local dealer that had a few Spyders in stock. I called them up, made an appointment, and headed over. Seeing one in person is way different than looking at pictures. These things are BIG. I mean, they’re not huge, but they definitely have a presence.

I talked to a salesperson, who showed me the different models and explained some of the features. You’ve got your basic models, your touring models with extra storage, and even some sportier versions. It’s kind of overwhelming at first.

Test Ride Time

After the initial walk around, I expressed my interest in test ride, the salesperson is very kind to arrange it for me. I never ride a three-wheel motorcycle before, so I listened to the salesperson’s instruction carefully.

Then I finally took my first ride on a Can-Am Spyder, it feels real stable. I noticed that it handles differently than a regular motorcycle – you steer it more like a car, no leaning into turns. It’s a weird sensation at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

My Thoughts

  • Stability: This is the big one. It feels super stable, even at low speeds. I can see why people who are nervous about two-wheeled motorcycles might like this.
  • Comfort: The seat was pretty comfy, and the riding position is fairly upright. I could definitely see myself taking this on a longer trip.
  • Power: It’s got plenty of power. It’s not going to win any drag races against a sportbike, but it’s got enough get-up-and-go to be fun.
  • Price: They’re not cheap. These things can easily cost as much as a decent car.

I took a test ride on a Spyder, it was more fun than I expected! I can imagine, I might get my own Spyder in the future.

Overall, it was a cool experience. Would I buy one? Maybe someday. It’s definitely a unique machine, and it’s got a lot going for it. But for now, I’m happy to just have had the chance to check it out and learn a little bit more about it.
