Okay, so today I wanted to dig into something that’s been bouncing around in my head: Rex Ryan and the 49ers. Specifically, the idea of him potentially joining their coaching staff.

First, I scoured the internet for any recent news or rumors. I mean, this isn’t a new concept, but I wanted to see if anything fresh had popped up. Mostly, I found older articles and speculation, nothing concrete.
My Deep Dive Process
- Started with a basic search. You know, just typed in “Rex Ryan 49ers” and saw what came up.
- Checked out some fan forums. You always get some interesting, and sometimes wild, takes there. Lots of people either loved or hated the idea.
- Tried to find any interviews with Ryan himself where he might have hinted at something. No luck there, unfortunately. He’s been pretty quiet on this specific topic recently.
After that initial sweep, I decided to look at it from a different angle. I thought, “Okay, what would be the pros and cons of this, if it ever happened?”
On the one hand, Ryan is a defensive mastermind. No denying that. He’s got a proven track record, and he’s definitely a strong personality. I can see it.
On the other hand, though, he’s been out of the NFL coaching game for a bit. Would he be a good fit with the current 49ers setup? Their culture? I got confused.
So, I spent a good chunk of time just brainstorming. It is fun,I enjoy it.

Honestly, my “research” didn’t lead to any definitive conclusion. It’s all just speculation at this point. But it was a fun exercise to think through the possibilities. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if anything ever materializes on this front. For now, it remains just an interesting “what if” scenario in my mind, at least I got something, even if it’s not the result.
