Okay, so I finally got around to trying out that “Add Yours” feature on TikTok everyone seems to be using. Felt like I was seeing it everywhere, so figured I’d give it a shot myself.
My Process Figuring it Out
First thing, I needed an idea. I didn’t want to just jump on someone else’s trend right away, wanted to start my own little thing. After thinking for a bit, I decided on something simple, related to my morning coffee routine. Seemed easy enough for others to join in.
So, I grabbed my phone. Did the usual stuff:
- Opened up TikTok, hit the plus button to start a new video.
- Recorded a quick clip – just me pouring coffee into my favorite mug. Nothing too fancy, kept it short.
- Once the recording was done, I tapped the checkmark to go to the editing screen. This is where all the magic happens, right?
Now, finding the actual “Add Yours” sticker. I looked around the editing options. You know, the stuff on the right side usually – text, effects, all that. I saw the Stickers icon, looked like a little square smiley face. Tapped on that.
Inside the stickers menu, there were tons of options. GIFs, polls, Q&As… I had to look specifically for the one labeled “Add Yours”. Found it! It stood out pretty clearly once I knew what I was looking for.
Tapped on the “Add Yours” sticker. It popped up on my video preview. Then it asked me to write a prompt. This is key – it’s the topic people will respond to. So, I typed in something like “Show your morning coffee mug”.
After typing the prompt, I could drag the sticker around on the screen. Placed it somewhere visible but not totally blocking the video. You can resize it too, but I kept it a standard size.
With the sticker placed and the prompt set, I moved on to the final posting screen. Added a very short description, maybe a relevant hashtag like #coffeelover, though I’m not big on hashtags usually. Checked my privacy settings – made sure it was set to ‘Friends’ or ‘Everyone’ so people could actually see it and add theirs.
Then, just hit the Post button.

And that was pretty much it. The video went live with the interactive sticker on it. I checked back later out of curiosity. Didn’t expect much, but it was interesting to see the process through. It’s actually quite simple once you do it the first time. Just finding that sticker in the menu was the main step. Easy peasy.
