Okay, so yesterday I was trying to figure out what channel the Royals game was on. It felt like a real mission, lemme tell ya!

First thing I did, of course, was hit up Google. Typed in “what tv channel is the royals game on tonight”. Obvious, right? Got a bunch of links, but most were just schedules and stuff, not exactly screaming the answer at me.
Then, I remembered I had the MLB app on my phone. Fired that baby up. Usually, it’s pretty good about showing you where to watch. Scrolled through the games for the day, found the Royals game, and…bam! It said something like “Bally Sports Kansas City”.
Okay, progress! But I don’t actually have cable anymore. I’m all about streaming these days. So, next step: figure out if Bally Sports Kansas City is on any of my streaming services.
- Checked YouTube TV: Nope.
- Hulu + Live TV: Also a no-go.
- Sling TV: Hmmm… maybe?
Sling TV has different packages, so I had to dig around their website to see which one included Bally Sports Kansas City. Turns out, you need the “Orange” or “Blue” package plus the “Sports Extra” add-on. Ugh.
Almost there! I wasn’t about to sign up for a whole new service just for one game. That’s when I remembered my buddy Dave. Dave’s got cable, the whole shebang. Shot him a text: “Hey, Royals game on tonight? What channel?”

Five minutes later, he texts back: “Bally Sports Kansas City, channel 624.”
Victory! So, technically, I didn’t end up watching it legally myself. Went over to Dave’s, had some beers, watched the game. But hey, I found the channel number! Sometimes, the old-fashioned way is the best way, ya know?
Lesson learned? Finding a baseball game on TV can be way harder than it should be. And friends with cable are priceless.
