Stardew Valley Tree Farming Tips: How to Make the Most of It

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this game, Stardew Valley, and I wanted to get into tree farming. It’s not just about chopping wood, you know? There’s a whole system to it, and it’s kinda cool once you get the hang of it.

Stardew Valley Tree Farming Tips: How to Make the Most of It

First off, I found out you can plant trees pretty much anywhere there’s an empty spot. I started by clearing out a patch of land on my farm. Just had to remove some rocks and grass, nothing too crazy. Then, I grabbed some tree seeds. You can get these from chopping down other trees or buy them, but I had a bunch from just playing the game.

Now, here’s where I messed up at first. I planted the seeds right next to each other. Turns out, that’s a no-go. The game tells you that trees need space to grow. I learned that if you plant them too close, they either won’t grow at all, or they’ll grow super slow. So, I had to dig some of them up and space them out. Each tree needs like eight empty squares around it, which is kind of a lot.

  • Clearing the land: This was pretty straightforward. Just used my axe and pickaxe to get rid of the stuff in the way.
  • Getting seeds: I didn’t even have to buy any. I just chopped down some trees and got seeds that way.
  • Planting: Here’s where you gotta be careful. Make sure there’s plenty of space around each seed.

After I got the spacing right, I decided to try out this tree fertilizer. You can craft it or buy it. It’s supposed to speed up the growth. Honestly, I’m not sure how much it helped, but my trees did start growing faster. Might have been the fertilizer, or maybe I just got better at watering them. Oh yeah, you gotta water the tree saplings, just like crops. I use a simple watering can for this step.

I focused on common trees like Maple, Oak, and Pine, because I need a lot of wood and sap. I heard you can get wood from Mahogany trees, too. That’s probably what I’ll mess with next.

It took a while, but my trees finally started to get big. It felt pretty good to see them grow, not gonna lie. There is an another thing to do with tree. It is called tapper. I planted some of them just next to each other to use tapper to get syrup. Because tapper trees don’t need empty space to grow.

So yeah, that’s my tree farming adventure so far. It’s not the most exciting part of the game, but it’s useful, and it is kind of satisfying to watch your little forest grow. If you’re playing Stardew Valley, give it a try. Just remember to give those trees some room!
