Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another deep dive into the world of motorsports. Today, we’re talking about my latest adventure: getting the Acura NSX ready for the FIA WEC LMGT3. Let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride.
So, first things first, I got my hands on the car. Beautiful machine, the Acura NSX, but it needed some work to get it up to LMGT3 spec. I spent days just looking at it, figuring out what needed to be done.
Then, I started digging into the details. We’re aiming for the 2025 season, so I knew I had some time but not a lot. We are talking about the FIA World Endurance Championship here, so everything has to be top-notch.
- The Engine: I started by tuning the engine. It’s all about getting that perfect balance of power and reliability. The NSX has got a beast under the hood, so it was about refining it, making sure it could handle those long endurance races.
- Aerodynamics: Next up, the aero. This is where it gets tricky. You want the car to be fast, but also stable. I spent hours in simulations, tweaking the bodywork, the spoilers, trying to find that sweet spot. We’re talking about a top speed around 343 km/h, so every little adjustment counts.
- Partnerships: Now, you can’t do this alone. I’ve been working closely with the guys at Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US). Their support has been incredible. They’re as excited as I am to get the NSX back on the track, and together we’re making it happen.
We got some serious competition. I see you Ferrari, Lambo, BMW, Corvette, and Porsche. You guys are good, but we’re coming for you. The NSX is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
I’ve seen some of the early results from other teams, like Manthey PureRxcing with their Porsche 911 GT3. They’ve had some wins, which is impressive. But hey, competition is what makes this exciting, right?
Throughout this process, I’ve been documenting everything. Every tweak, every test run, every little victory and setback. I believe in transparency, in sharing the journey, not just the destination.
Finally, after all the hard work, we got the car on the track for some test runs. Seeing it in action, hearing that engine roar, it’s an indescribable feeling. We had a decent showing in Bahrain, finishing fifth. Not bad for a start, but we’ve got a long way to go.
So, what’s next? More testing, more refining, and a lot more hard work. The 2025 season is our goal, and we’re going to give it our all. It’s not just about speed, it’s about endurance, strategy, and teamwork.
