Okay, so, today I’m gonna share my little adventure trying to figure out what the heck “purple” means on Snapchat. It’s kinda silly, but hey, we’ve all been there, right?
So, it all started when I noticed a purple icon on my friend’s Snapchat story. I was like, “Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?” I’m not exactly a Snapchat pro, more like a casual user, so I figured it was some new thing I’d missed.
First thing I did, naturally, was tap on it! I mean, gotta be brave, right? Nothing happened. Just took me to their normal story. Strike one.
Next up, I hit up Google. Typed in “purple icon Snapchat meaning.” Got a whole bunch of different answers. Some were about Snapchat Plus, others about focus mode… it was a total information overload. I skimmed through a few articles, but nothing really clicked. I needed something simpler.
Then, I thought, “Wait a minute, I have a friend who’s basically a Snapchat wizard.” So, I texted her. She replied pretty quick and was like, “Oh, it probably means they have a Snapchat Plus badge that they changed to purple, or it’s a purple ring around a story indicating it’s a close friend’s story if you pay for Snapchat+”
So there you have it! Mystery solved. I feel a little dumb for not knowing, but hey, you learn something new every day, right?
Moral of the story: When in doubt, ask a friend who knows their stuff. Google’s great, but sometimes a real person is way more helpful.
