Okay, so you wanna hear about my Disney Gay Days 2025 planning? Buckle up, it’s a wild ride!
First off, I started brainstorming like, months ago. This ain’t my first rodeo, ya know? Figured, lemme get a head start on everything. I mean, flights, hotel, park tickets… it all adds up, and the earlier you book, the better the deals usually are.
Flights: I hopped on Google Flights, Skyscanner, all those usual suspects. Set up price alerts too, because ain’t nobody got time to be checking every five minutes. I was looking for something direct, because Orlando airport is a zoo, and I ain’t trying to add extra travel stress to my vacay. Ended up snagging a decent deal on Southwest. Free checked bags? Yes, please!
Hotel: This was the big one. Location, location, location! I knew I wanted to be close to the parks, and preferably somewhere with a good pool scene. I spent a good week reading reviews on TripAdvisor, *, all that jazz. I finally decided on a hotel near Disney Springs. It had free shuttles to the parks, and the reviews said the pool parties were actually pretty fun. Plus, being near Disney Springs meant easy access to restaurants and bars after a long day of riding rides.
Park Tickets: This is where I got a little fancy. I debated between a park hopper and a regular ticket. Ultimately, I decided on a park hopper. I like the freedom to bounce around between parks if the lines are too long at one place. I bought the tickets directly from Disney’s website. They always have some kind of promotion going on, so I made sure to check for those before hitting the “purchase” button.
What to Wear: Okay, now for the fun part! This is Gay Days, people! Gotta bring out the rainbow gear. I started browsing Etsy and Amazon for some fun t-shirts and accessories. I found this awesome rainbow Mickey Mouse tank top that I just had to have. And of course, I packed my trusty rainbow fanny pack. It’s both stylish and practical for carrying all my essentials.
Planning the Days: I roughly mapped out which park I wanted to visit on which day, keeping in mind the official Gay Days schedule. Magic Kingdom on Saturday is a must, of course. Epcot for drinking around the world is always a good time. And Hollywood Studios for the thrill rides. I didn’t want to over-plan, though. Part of the fun is just going with the flow and seeing where the day takes you.
Making Reservations: Made dining reservations for a few key meals. Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom is a classic. And I snagged a reservation at Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios, because who doesn’t want to drink a space cocktail?
Packing: Sunscreen, comfortable shoes (seriously, your feet will thank you), a hat, sunglasses, and a portable charger. And don’t forget the rainbow gear! Oh, and I always pack a small first-aid kit with blister bandaids, pain relievers, and antacids. You never know when you’re gonna need them.
Getting There: Pre-booked a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Didn’t want to deal with the hassle of trying to find a taxi or Uber after a long flight.
The Trip!: So I get there. It’s HOT. Like, swamp-ass hot. But the energy is amazing! Rainbows everywhere, everyone’s smiling, just a really positive vibe. The lines are long, obviously, but hey, that’s Disney. I hit all the major rides, drank my weight in Dole Whips, and made some new friends. The pool parties were a blast, and the evening fireworks shows were breathtaking.
Lessons Learned: Okay, a few things I’d do differently next time. 1) Bring a cooling towel. Seriously, those things are lifesavers in the Florida heat. 2) Invest in a good pair of walking sandals. My feet were killing me by the end of the week. 3) Don’t be afraid to splurge on Genie+ if you really want to avoid the long lines. It’s expensive, but it can save you a lot of time and frustration.
All in all, Disney Gay Days 2025 was an awesome experience. Highly recommend! Start planning now for 2026 – you won’t regret it!
