Jorge Garfias: Everything You Need to Know Now

Okay, so I’ve been diving into this whole Jorge Garfias thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s been quite the ride. I wanted to share my experience because it’s been a pretty eye-opening process, especially since I’m looking into homeschooling for my own kids.

Jorge Garfias: Everything You Need to Know Now

I started by digging into this book by Garfias, “Everything You Need to Know about Homeschooling.” I figured, who better to learn from than someone who’s been in the trenches, right? I wanted to see if this whole homeschooling thing could actually bring my family closer together and closer to God, which is something that’s really important to me.

I spent hours reading through the book, taking notes, and highlighting the parts that really resonated with me. I was particularly interested in how Garfias approached homeschooling as a journey, starting from early learning all the way through graduation. I mean, it’s a big commitment, and I wanted to make sure I was going into it with my eyes wide open.

Then, something else caught my attention. I stumbled upon some legal stuff – this “INA Section 245(i)” thing. It’s about immigration law, and how some undocumented immigrants can apply for a green card from within the US. I know, it’s a bit of a detour from homeschooling, but it was on December 14, 1998. It got me thinking about how complex laws can be, and how important it is to really understand the details before making any big decisions. Apparently, they updated it on December 21, 2000, to extend the date to April 30, 2001. I guess things change, you know?

So, I went back to the homeschooling stuff. I kept reading and reflecting, trying to figure out how I could apply Garfias’ advice to my own situation. I wanted to create a homeschooling experience that was filled with confidence and grace, and that was tailored to my family’s unique needs and learning styles. I even tried out a few of his suggestions, like setting up a dedicated learning space in our home and creating a flexible daily schedule that worked for everyone.

Honestly, it’s been a lot of work, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding. I feel like I’m not just preparing my kids for academic success, but I’m also helping them grow as individuals and as members of our family. It is really a whole journey for everyone.

I’m still in the early stages of this homeschooling thing, but thanks to Jorge Garfias and my little detour into immigration law, I feel like I’m on the right path. I’m excited to see where this journey takes us, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside my kids. It’s definitely not always easy, but it’s absolutely worth it. What an amazing experience so far, and we’re only getting started!
