Getting Started with Paul Blair Stats
Okay so I needed Paul Blair’s baseball stats today for a project. Grabbed my laptop and thought this would take 5 minutes. Boy, was I wrong.

First, I went straight to the official baseball site everybody knows. Searched his name nothing. Just… nothing. Like he never played? Weird. Tried a different spelling, added “MLB player”—same dead end. Felt like hitting a wall early on.
Hitting Dead Ends Left and Right
Okay, Plan B. Jumped over to this other big sports stats site people talk about. Searched “Paul Blair.” Got like 50 guys with that name! None were the Paul Blair—you know, the Yankees legend? Scrolled forever. Filters were useless. Closed that tab fast.
Tried one more popular stats hub. This time… crickets. Zero results. Blank screen. Just stared at it like “Really?” Even typed his Yankees years. Zilch. Was getting frustrated now.
Finally Stumbling Into Useful Tools
Took a coffee break. Came back and thought “try the old-school stuff.” Remembered this really simple baseball database site from way back. Searched there. Boom. Full stats page! Batting averages, fielding percentages, even minor league numbers. Simple layout too.
Then I tried another tool I forgot about—it’s more for hardcore stats nerds. Searched “Blair, Paul.” Found him instantly. Detailed tables showing:

- Every season’s games played
- Stolen bases broken down by year
- Post-season numbers separate from regular
Exactly what I needed. Didn’t even need to sign up.
Lessons Learned Today
Big takeaway? Don’t trust the flashy sites upfront. Gotta dig deeper for historical players like Paul Blair. Real useful stuff came from:
- That plain baseball database site
- The nerdy advanced stats tool
Just google those descriptions—you’ll find ’em. Anyway, mission accomplished. Took longer than expected, but got his career stats down cold.
