Alright so yesterday I got this random thought – who actually won the Premier League back in 2017? Feels like ancient history now with all these crazy title races since. Figured I’d dig it up real quick.
First thing I did? Obviously grabbed my phone. Opened Chrome like always. Typed “2017 premier league final table” straight into Google. Hit search.
Holy crap it was a mess. First page was plastered with betting site ads. Seriously? All I want is who finished where. Scrolled past like three gambling links feeling kinda pissed. Found one page called something like “Football Stats Archive” or whatever.
Clicked it. Boom – total disaster. Page screamed for newsletter signups before showing anything. Then pop-ups! Gave up immediately. Nope. Not dealing with that garbage.
Changed my search to “2017 premier league final table simple”. That did it! Got this clean chart on page two:
- Chelsea – Top with 93 points
- Tottenham – Second place
- Man City – Third
- Liverpool – Fourth
- Then Arsenal… outside top four! Yeah even back then.
Saved a screenshot real quick. Then it hit me – Spurs actually finished above Arsenal that season? Wild. Never realized that before. Funny how people only remember who won, not who came second. Sorry Spurs fans.
Checked my old photos after. Found one from May 2017 showing me sleeping on the couch with the TV still on ESPN. Woke up hours after the final whistle. Totally missed Chelsea lifting the trophy! Why? Because our newborn decided 3am was perfect screaming time. Football waits for no one.
