Man, what a wild ride this whole Celtics Olympics thing has been! I’ve been following it closely, and let me tell you, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions.

So, the Celtics just crushed it and won the NBA Championship. You’d think those guys would be chilling on a beach somewhere, right? Nope! Some of them are already gearing up for the Olympics. Crazy, huh?
I started digging into who’s going. Turns out, Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday were already locked in for Team USA. Those two, no surprise there. They’re beasts on the court.
Then Came the Snub
Here’s where things get interesting. I was looking at the full list, expecting to see Jaylen Brown‘s name, you know, after that amazing performance he had in the finals. But guess what? He wasn’t there! Along with his other two teammates Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday. I thought they are going to represent Team USA together. I mean, the guy helped lead the Celtics to a championship and even bagged the NBA Finals MVP, and he didn’t make the cut for the Olympics? It blew my mind.
- Jayson Tatum
- Jrue Holiday
- Derrick White
I heard some rumors about Derrick White also being considered. But Brown? Nada. I was scratching my head, wondering what the deal was. It got me thinking, maybe this will make him think twice about playing for Team USA in the future.
The Whole Tatum Thing
Then there’s the whole Jayson Tatum drama during the games. Apparently, he got benched a couple of times, even in a blowout win. The coach, Kerr, said something about not being able to play more than 10 guys in a 40-minute game. Still, it felt weird to me. It’s Tatum, one of the best in the game!

I kept tracking down information, trying to figure out how many Celtics players were actually going to the Olympics. Some places said four, then it seemed like it was just two. It was all over the place.
Wrapping My Head Around It
Honestly, it’s been a confusing mess, trying to keep up with who’s in and who’s out. One thing’s for sure, though – the Olympics are going to be interesting, especially with these Celtics guys (or not) in the mix. I’ll definitely be watching to see how it all plays out!
