Learn Finger Bike Tricks Easy Step by Step Tutorial Guide

So I got this tiny finger bike yesterday – you know those miniature bikes you control with just two fingers? Felt like learning some cool tricks might be fun, maybe film a little guide. Figured it couldn’t be that hard, right? Boy, was I wrong at first!

The Struggle is Real (At First)

Started simple. Really simple. Just trying to make the bike roll straight without wobbling all over my desk. Kept pushing it forward with my index finger. But nope! It kept veering off sideways like it had a mind of its own. Seriously annoying.

Next up? The “Ollie.” Sounds basic, but jeez. The idea is to press down quick on the tail with one finger and then kind of flick it upwards. My first ten tries? Total faceplants. The stupid bike just shot backwards or flipped over sideways every single time. So frustrating.

Slowly Figuring Things Out

Sat back, took a breath. Watched a couple of clips other people put up – not fancy tutorials, just quick vids. Saw they weren’t slamming it down super hard, just a fast little tap on the back wheel. Also noticed they kept their finger super close to the bike the whole time, kinda guiding it.

So I tried it again, but calmer.

  1. Pushed the bike forward nice and slow.
  2. Lightly touched the back tire with my middle finger.
  3. Snapped that finger down quick, almost like popping a pimple, but gentle!
  4. Immediately lifted my finger up just a tiny bit.

AND THE FRONT WHEEL ACTUALLY CAME OFF THE DESK! It wasn’t high, maybe a millimeter, but it was AIR! Finally!

Getting a Bit Fancier

Felt a tiny bit smug after the Ollie worked sometimes. Thought, “Alright, let’s try a wheelie.” Sounds easy – just lift the front wheel and roll on the back one.

Yeah, no. This thing tipped over backwards so fast, or just flopped sideways. Kept at it. Learned I had to:

  • Keep the bike rolling smooth first.
  • Press down super gently under the handlebars with my thumb.
  • At the same time, ever so slightly lift my index finger off the seat.
  • Find that stupid sweet spot where it balances.

Total wobbly mess for ages. But eventually, managed to roll it a full desk ruler length on just the back wheel without crashing! Patience pays off, I guess.

Putting It Together

Felt ambitious after that. Tried linking an Ollie into a little manual (short wheelie). Took forever. My fingers felt uncoordinated. Do the Ollie pop, land it, then IMMEDIATELY shift my fingers back for the wheelie lift. Coordination nightmare! Dropped it countless times.

After maybe an hour (seriously, an HOUR on something so small!), finally landed one shaky Ollie and held a short wheelie right after. Actually did it three times in a row later! Small wins!

Honestly, finger biking is way harder than it looks on those smooth instagram clips. Takes stupid amounts of patience and tiny finger adjustments. But man, when you land that tiny trick after failing fifty times? Feels pretty good. If I can stumble through learning this, anyone can – just expect lots of drops!
