Thought I’d try this today – figuring how to collect nice candid shots from tennis player Musetti’s matches without getting clobbered by copyright stuff. Sounds easy? Nah.
Starting Simple
Opened my laptop right after breakfast. Went straight to the big tennis sites first. You know, official tour pages, sports news galleries. Typed “Musetti Roland Garros 2023” expecting shirtless victory moments. Found maybe two tiny pics total. Both showed him celebrating but zoomed out so far he looked like a tiny ant hugging his team. Useless. Tried Wimbledon search next. Same deal. Half these sites watermarked stuff so big it covered his abs anyway. Gave up on the “respectable” sources after an hour.
Deeper Into the Internet
Switched tactics. Figured fan forums or smaller tennis blogs might save stuff. Got onto this one tennis fanatic site – seemed legit at first. Started pulling images. Found one solid back shot from Montreal last year! My excitement lasted exactly two minutes until Instagram and Discord bots started messaging me. Big fat copyright strikes slapped all over me. Took the pics down like lightning. Knew this route was dead.
Getting Desperate
Alright, time for plan C: actual match footage grabs. Loaded up some Musetti highlights on YouTube. Scrolled slowly when it looked like he might rip his shirt off after points. Tried screen grabs. Results were pure garbage:

- Always cut off at the shoulders or waist
- My phone shots of the laptop screen looked like someone took them in a dark cave
Started zooming in like a creepy person. Focused just on his collarbone area? That felt beyond weird. Gave up that nonsense.
Hitting Walls
By lunch, I was annoyed. Dug around Italian sports sites since Musetti’s Italian. Found gold? Nope. Big flashing “GEOBLOCKED” messages everywhere. Those strict European data rules shut me out cold. Forget it unless the ATP decides to sell “player celebration body shot” packs. Trashed the project folder. Glad nobody saw this disaster.
