So yesterday I’m messing around in Destiny, right? Heard through the grapevine about this New Last Wish loot pool shuffle. Figured, hey, why not jump in and see what fresh hell Bungie cooked up this time. Grabbed my clanmates – Dave looking for that stupid Curated Nation of Beasts pulse rifle for months, Sarah chasing her 1000 Voices white whale – and slammed into the raid.
The Initial Run Chaos
We started smashing through encounters like usual. First up was Kalli. Beat her down quick, popped the chest… and boom. Sarah pulls out Nation of Beasts. Just some random roll, not curated. Dave grunts. Already feels weird. Usually a bunch of Age-Old Bonds fall out here. Not this time. Purple engram crap, nothing special. Felt lazy.
- Checked collections immediately after – no new stuff yet? Weird.
- Used my Forsaken key – got more goddamn glitter, useless.
- Tried chest rerolls – got weapons I sharded instantly. Total joke.
Moved on to Shuro Chi. Here’s where it got spicy. Finally saw something besides the same old garbage. Shuro dropped Techeun Force for me. Not new, sure, but haven’t seen it drop here in ages. Then Sarah screamed. Chest spat out Apex Predator – a rocket launcher that actually felt decent? But Dave still got nada. The rotation felt broken already. Feels like they just shuffled a deck of old cards and called it “new.”
The Vault Encounter Debacle
Vault encounter was pure pain. Took us three tries – someone always forgot symbols. Finally cleared it. Cracked the final chest open… and got Transfiguration. That scout rifle? Again? Seriously? Sarah got her twelfth Chattering Bone pulse rifle. Dave actually walked away from his controller. Heard a distant “WHAT IS THE POINT.” Hard to argue when the loot pool just cycles through the same eight things for four years.
- No sign of any “latest items” like Bungie promised – checked every chest, every nook
- “Rotations” just mean stuff moves to different bosses, zero meaningful changes
- Vault chests still favor scout rifles and sidearms somehow – who even uses those?
Riven and That Final Disappointment
Beat Riven after suffering through the cheese (don’t judge, we were tired). Key time. Heart pounding. Sarah praying for 1K Voices… gets another Apex Predator. I got Techeun again. Dave? Another goddamn Age-Old Bond, this time with a worse roll than his current one. Actual laughter of despair echoed through comms. Wiped in Queenswalk three times because salt levels were critical. Finished exhausted, loot felt hot garbage.
So yeah. “New” loot pool? Feels like Bungie’s intern shuffled names in a hat. No actual new guns. Rotations just moved old gear to new bosses. Still got stuff dropping from encounters it shouldn’t. Still praying for specific drops that never come. Feels exactly like last season’s nonsense. Why do I keep doing this to myself? At least the memes with the clan after were funny.
