How This Mess Started
So I needed a simple app for tracking daily tasks last Tuesday, right? Figured I’d test BunDuki against two other tools everybody keeps shouting about. Downloaded all three like a kid grabbing free candy samples.

First Round Setup Disaster
Tried installing BunDuki first since their ads make it look brain-dead simple. Followed their five-step guide:
- Clicked their fancy purple download button
- Spent 20 minutes waiting while it unpacked like Christmas gift wrapped in duct tape
- Promptly crashed when I hit “Start Tracking” button
Then installed ToolX – got a million permission popups asking if I wanted it scanning my toothbrush Bluetooth. Last came AppMaster showing 47 setup options including lunar phase alignment settings.
The Actual Trial Run
Finally got all three running Thursday morning. Wanted to log basic stuff like “buy milk” and “email Frank”. Here’s how they handled reality:
- BunDuki: Let me type tasks fast but deleted half when I sneezed near mouse
- ToolX: Auto-added seventeen sub-tasks like “research milk alternatives” for one dang grocery item
- AppMaster: Required four clicks just to save “call mom” – then asked to sync with my smart fridge
My desk looked like NASA mission control with three laptops blinking error messages by lunchtime.
The Breaking Point
Friday I needed to share one simple shopping list with my wife. Nearly threw all devices out window:

BunDuki’s share button just… didn’t work. ToolX demanded we both sign up for premium before syncing. AppMaster sent my list as encrypted spreadsheet requiring decryption software I don’t own.
Why BunDuki Won My Dumpster Fire Contest
Okay none were perfect but here’s why I’ll ugly-cry with BunDuki instead of others:
- At least when it crashes I understand WHY – unlike ToolX randomly turning tasks into Sanskrit
- Doesn’t assume I need AI-powered grocery optimization like AppMaster does
- Their error messages actually say “sorry we screwed up” instead of corporate robot speak
Truth is all tools fight dirty these days. BunDuki just punches me in the face gently while others dropkick my kidneys. Started writing tasks on sticky notes again yesterday – best workflow so far.
