Track the Race with 24 Hours of Daytona 2023 Live Standings: See Whos Winning and Whos Falling Behind!

Okay, so I’ve been glued to the screen all weekend, right? Totally hooked on the 24 Hours of Daytona. This year’s race, the 2023 one, was a real nail-biter, let me tell you! I decided from the start I needed a solid way to keep track of things, you know? Not just who’s winning, but also the whole standings situation.

First, I started by just surfing around, trying to get a feel for the whole event. Found a bunch of sites with bits and pieces. Some had news, some had like, info on the track and stuff. Basically, I spent a good chunk of time just gathering information, trying to get my bearings on this race.

Then I went on a mission for the actual live standings. I found a couple of spots that claimed to have the most up-to-date results for IMSA and for the Rolex 24. They had classifications for all the different sessions, which was super helpful.

I ended up bookmarking a few different pages, just to be safe. You know how it is with live updates, sometimes one site is faster than another, or maybe one goes down. So I was all about that redundancy, haha.

While watching, I would go back and forth between the live feed and the standings pages, I felt like a real race strategist or something. It was pretty intense, especially towards the end. I mean, there was this crazy battle between Porsche Penske Motorsport and Cadillac. It was back and forth, back and forth!

In the end, Porsche won! Their 19th overall win, which is wild. And it was the first for Penske since way back in 1969. The race actually finished a bit early, something about an “officiating error” – I still don’t fully get that part, but okay.

Here is what I have learned during my process:

  • Finding the Right Info: I spent some time looking around at different sites to figure out which ones had the best race info and live standings.
  • Staying Updated: I checked multiple websites regularly to make sure I had the most current results during the race.
  • Watching the Battle: I watched the race closely, especially the exciting fight between Porsche and Cadillac for the lead.
  • Seeing the Winner: I learned that Porsche Penske Motorsport won in the end, which was a big deal because it was their 19th win and Penske’s first since 1969.
  • Understanding a Twist: I found out the race ended a little early because of a mistake by the officials, which was a bit confusing but interesting.

They say the cars went 833 laps. According to IMSA, that’s almost 3,000 miles. That’s like driving from Daytona to Los Angeles, then up to San Francisco, then almost to Santa Rosa. Crazy, right? Anyway, that’s my adventure with the 24 Hours of Daytona. I will keep doing this for the next race!
