Mariano Tennis: How to Play? A simple guide for beginners to get started right now!

Okay, so let’s talk about this “mariano tennis” thing. I gotta tell you, I’ve always wanted to get into tennis. It just looks so cool, you know? Like, running around, smashing the ball, that whole scene. So I finally decided to give it a shot.

First thing I did, I grabbed a racket. Didn’t really know what I was looking for, just something that felt okay in my hand. Then I watched a bunch of videos online. Just basic stuff, how to hold the racket, how to stand, you know, the basics. I spent a good few days just watching these videos, trying to understand how to even hit the ball properly.

Then came the fun part – actually trying to play! I went to a local court, all by myself. It was kind of awkward at first, just me, a racket, and a bucket of balls. I started by just trying to hit the ball over the net. Man, it’s harder than it looks! Balls were flying everywhere, I was missing most of them.

I kept at it though. I started practicing my forehand, then my backhand. Oh boy, the backhand was a struggle! It felt so unnatural. I tried to remember what I saw in those videos, you know, how to position my feet, how to swing. I spent hours just hitting balls, trying to get the hang of it.

One thing I realized pretty quickly was how important footwork is. I was just standing there at first, but then I started moving around, trying to get in the right position to hit the ball. It made a huge difference. I felt like I had more control over my shots.

  • Forehand practice: I spent a lot of time on this one. Trying to get that smooth, powerful swing.
  • Backhand practice: This was tough, but I kept practicing. Still not great, but it’s getting there.
  • Serving practice: I set up some cones as targets and tried to hit them with my serves. It was really hard to be consistent.
  • Footwork drills: I practiced moving side to side, forward and backward. It was tiring but helpful.

After a few weeks, I actually started to see some improvement. I was hitting the ball more consistently, my serves were getting a bit better, and I wasn’t tripping over my own feet as much. It felt good to see that progress.

I’m still a beginner, no doubt. But I’m enjoying the process. It’s a great workout, and it’s fun to learn something new. I even found a local tennis group for beginners, so I’m hoping to start playing with other people soon. It’s never too late to start, right? That’s what I keep telling myself. Age is just a number, and anyone can play tennis!

So yeah, that’s my “mariano tennis” journey so far. It’s been challenging, but also really rewarding. I’m excited to keep playing and see how much better I can get. Maybe one day I’ll even be good! Who knows?
