So, I finally got my hands on the BMW F850. You know, I’ve been riding for a while now, and after clocking in 15k kms on my old bike, I was itching for an upgrade. Something that wouldn’t kill my back on long rides.

I’d heard a few things about the F850, both good and bad. Some folks were saying it’s a real adventure machine, while others were a bit skeptical, especially about it being made in China. But hey, I figured I’d see for myself.
First off, getting the bike was a breeze. I found a dealer, they had it in stock, and bam, it was mine. No fuss, no long waits.
Getting it home, I immediately noticed how smooth the ride is. Seriously, it’s like gliding on butter compared to my old bike. And the power? Oh boy, this thing can move. I haven’t pushed it to the max yet, but I hear it can go over 200 km/h. Not that I’ll be doing that anytime soon, but it’s nice to know the power’s there.
- Smooth ride, seriously smooth.
- Powerful, I mean, it really goes.
- Comfortable, I can see myself doing some serious long-distance riding on this thing.
Now, I’m a bit of an off-road guy, and this bike feels like it was built for it. I’ve taken it on a few trails, nothing too crazy yet, but it handles like a dream. It’s like it’s begging me to take it on some real adventures.
I did some digging online before buying, and yeah, there’s a lot of talk about it. Some folks are comparing it to the bigger, BMW bikes, saying it’s a step up, which is cool. I mean, I did sell my older bike before getting this one, so it felt like a good move.

What’s Next?
I’m planning a few longer trips with this bad boy. I want to see what it can really do. And yeah, I’ll probably do some more off-road stuff, really put it to the test. I got a new helmet, so I’m all set.
All in all, I’m pretty stoked about this bike. It’s smooth, it’s powerful, and it feels like it can handle anything I throw at it. I’ll keep you guys updated on how it goes, especially after I take it on some longer rides. Stay tuned!
