Best Stats for Fallout 4: Which attributes should you prioritize? This guide will help you!

Okay, so, I’ve been sinking a ton of hours into Fallout 4 lately. It’s a great game, but figuring out the best stats can be a real headache. I mean, you start with those SPECIAL points, and it’s like, “Where do I even begin?”

So, I did what any normal person would do – I dove headfirst into the wasteland and started experimenting. First, I tried to be a smooth-talking, high-charisma character. Let me tell you, that did not go well. I could talk my way out of a paper bag, but as soon as a fight broke out, I was toast.

Then, I went the opposite way. I pumped everything into strength and endurance, thinking I’d be some kind of unstoppable tank. Nope. I mean, I could take a beating, but I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn. Plus, I was broke all the time because I couldn’t carry anything!

  • High Charisma: Great for talking, terrible for surviving.
  • High Strength/Endurance: Tanky, but inaccurate and poor.

After a few more failed attempts, I started to see a pattern. It seemed like focusing too much on one thing was a recipe for disaster. You need a bit of balance, you know? And then I started messing around with perception, agility, and luck. These were a game changer, especially if you like using VATS.

With high perception, my accuracy in VATS went through the roof. Agility gave me more action points, so I could use VATS more often. And luck? Well, let’s just say I was finding critical hits like they were going out of style.

I also realized that endurance is actually pretty important, no matter what. More health is always good, right? But you don’t need to max it out right away.

Then someone on a forum mentioned a stealth melee build, using a lot of agility for a perk called “Blitz” which sounded really overpowered. I am going to try that next.

My Current Experiment

So, right now, I’m running with a build that focuses on those three – perception, agility, and luck, with enough endurance to stay alive. I’m still tweaking things, but it feels pretty solid. I can sneak around, pick off enemies from afar, and if things get hairy, VATS is there to save the day.

It took a lot of trial and error, but I’m finally starting to feel like I’m getting the hang of this whole stats thing. Fallout 4 is a blast when you find a build that works for you. It’s all about finding that sweet spot, that balance that lets you survive and thrive in the wasteland. But this melee thing, it might be my go to after some more time trying it out.
