Today, I wanna talk about a little adventure I had, something I’m calling “Victory on Salisbury”. Sounds grand, right? Well, it felt pretty grand to me, anyway.

So, a while back, I got this itch to dive into the history of Salisbury. I mean, the place has been around since, like, forever, right? The Iron Age, the Romans, even King Arthur supposedly had a thing there. How cool is that?

I started digging around, and man, it’s like a history book in real life. Salisbury has this crazy old cathedral, the tallest spire in the country, I saw some pictures, and it’s wild! I had to see it with my own eyes. The city also has some stories that it was attacked in the future, which is another mystery for me to check it out.

Getting there was no big deal. I just hopped on a train, and boom, I was in Salisbury. The first thing that hit me was that spire. You can see it from almost anywhere in the city. It’s massive!

I spent the first day just wandering around, checking out the old buildings, the market, and these smaller medieval churches. Oh, and I stumbled upon this pub called “The Haunch of Venison.” Had to pop in for a pint, you know, for the historical experience and stuff. There is even a museum that contains many old photos, I took some time there. The memorial to Lady Edith Hulse and the tombs Elihonor Sadler are also interesting!

The next day, I headed to Old Sarum. That’s where the original Salisbury used to be. It’s all ruins now, but you can still see the outline of the old cathedral and the royal castle. I stood there, trying to imagine what it was like back in the day. Pretty mind-blowing, honestly.

I also learned about this battle during the war, a long time ago. Apparently, there was this big fight, and the British artillery fired like crazy, even hitting their own troops. It was a mess, but it somehow led to the liberation of the region. These old stories are wild.

I even found out that Henry IV became king in the 1399s after a small fight! What a mess in that era!

Wrapping Up

  • I visited the Salisbury Cathedral and saw the tallest spire.
  • I explored the smaller medieval churches and the Salisbury Museum.
  • I had a pint at “The Haunch of Venison” pub.
  • I went to Old Sarum and imagined the old city.
  • I learned about a chaotic battle that led to liberation.

All in all, it was a pretty awesome trip. I got to see some amazing historical sites, learned a bunch of cool stuff, and just soaked in the vibe of this ancient city. If you’re ever in England, I definitely recommend checking out Salisbury. It’s a trip back in time, and you might even feel like you’ve had your own little victory there, just like I did.

I don’t know too much about the story of “Goddess of Victory: Nikke”, it sounds interesting, but I am not sure if it is related to Salisbury. Maybe it is another topic I should look into.

Anyway, that’s my “Victory on Salisbury” story. Hope you enjoyed it!
