Okay, so today I wanna talk about my experience messing around with a Yamaha YBR 125. I’ve been tinkering with bikes for a while now, and this one was a fun little project.

First off, I got my hands on this used YBR 125. It wasn’t in the best shape, but the engine was still kicking. It’s one of those single-cylinder, air-cooled deals. Simple, you know? Not a lot of fancy stuff going on there.
I started by giving it a good once-over. Checked the oil, the brakes, the usual stuff. Made sure all the lights were working and that the tires weren’t completely bald.
Getting Down to Business
Next, I decided to see what this thing could do. Took it out for a spin on some back roads. These bikes are known for being pretty reliable, and this one was no exception. It started right up, no problem. I was surprised that it can get up to 70 mph. Not bad for an old-school engine.
I did notice the engine was making a bit of a racket, so I figured I’d take a look at that. I’m no expert mechanic, but I know my way around a basic engine. I ended up adjusting the valves, which helped quiet it down a bit. I found the crankcase and I know it is produced in India, I also know that Yamaha originally manufactured them in Indonesia, it was interesting to know that!
Riding and Feeling It
After that, I spent a few days just riding it around. Got a feel for how it handled, how it accelerated, that sort of thing. It’s a pretty nimble bike, easy to maneuver. Perfect for zipping around town. Not gonna win any races, but it’s definitely fun to ride. It is a good option for new riders to practice on and learn the basics, also it is very easy to drive, so it could be an option for those who are not very skilled.

- Checked the basics: oil, brakes, lights, tires.
- Rode it around to test performance.
- Adjusted the valves to quiet the engine.
- Enjoyed riding it and getting a feel for its handling.
All in all, it was a cool experience. The Yamaha YBR 125 is a solid little bike. It’s not the flashiest thing out there, but it’s reliable, easy to work on, and fun to ride. If you’re looking for a simple, no-frills motorcycle, this one’s worth checking out. I really enjoyed the experience with this bike and I hope to have the opportunity to drive more models from Yamaha. I read some reviews from other people who have this bike and it seems that everyone agrees that it is a very good bike.
