Okay, so I was messing around with the 2017 US PGA Championship, trying to see how everything went down. First thing I did was try to get the leaderboard. I went online and looked up the leaderboard for that year.

It was a bit of a hunt, but I finally found a site that had the final scores. They were all neatly listed out. The first name at the top was Justin Thomas, with a score of 276. That’s pretty good, right?
Then I noticed that the championship was played at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. I’ve never been there, but it sounds like a fancy place.
- Justin Thomas – 276
- Francesco Molinari
- Louis Oosthuizen
- Patrick Reed
Those were the top dogs. Molinari, Oosthuizen, and Reed were all tied for second, just two strokes behind Thomas.
I also found out this was the 99th PGA Championship. That’s a lot of golf history! It was pretty cool to dig into this stuff. After getting the main results, I wanted to learn more. So, I looked up some news articles from that time. Apparently, this Thomas guy was only 24 when he won. It was his first time winning a major, too. Kid’s got talent!
Oh, and I read that Molinari’s performance got him up to sixth place in the Race to Dubai rankings. I guess that’s a big deal in the golfing world. They kept talking about the “weather-affected second round”. I guess the weather wasn’t great, but it didn’t stop these guys.

Wrap up
In the end, I got a good feel for what happened at the 2017 PGA Championship. It was fun looking up all the details and learning about the players. Maybe I’ll try to watch it next year.
