Okay, so today I was thinking about that guy, Maurice Evans, the basketball player. Remember him? He played in the NBA for a while. I got curious about what he actually did during his time in the league, so I started digging around.
First, I just typed his name, “Maurice Evans”, into the search bar. You know, the usual first step.
It brought up the usual stuff. You know, his Wikipedia page, some old news articles, and a couple of YouTube videos of his highlights. I started with the Wiki page to get the basic overview.
- Born in Wichita, Kansas.
- Played college ball at Texas.
- Undrafted in 2000, but spent some time in other leagues before making it into the NBA.
Then, I went down the rabbit hole of game stats. I wanted to see how many games he played, how many points he scored, that kind of thing. I found a site with all those numbers, and spent a good chunk of time just scrolling through season by season, checking out his averages.
I also watched some of those highlight videos I mentioned earlier. It was cool to see him in action again. Dunks, three-pointers, some nice defensive plays. He was a solid role player, you know?
Finding some articles
I dug up some old articles about him. Some were from when he was playing, and others were from after he retired. I found one interesting one about his time with the Lakers, and another about some off-court stuff he was doing.
Finally, I wanted to see if he was active on social media. So I did some quick searches there. Found him there, checked out some posts. Looks like he’s doing well.
So yeah, that’s how I spent a good part of my day, going down the Maurice Evans internet hole. It was pretty interesting to learn more about his career and what he’s up to now. I’ve always found it cool to revisit players from back in the day and see what became of their NBA journey, you know what I mean?
