I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while, so here goes. I wanted to check out the seating situation at the Skydome, or the Rogers Centre as they call it now. I’m a big baseball fan, and the Blue Jays are my team, so I figured it’s time to get a bit more strategic about where I sit during the games.

I started by looking up some seating charts online. There’s a bunch of them out there, but they all show the same basic layout. You got your 100 level, 200 level, and 500 level seats. The lower the number, the closer you are to the field. Pretty standard stuff, just like any other stadium, I guess.
- 100 Level: These are the prime seats, right behind the dugouts and home plate.
- 200 Level: This is kind of like a middle ground.
- 500 Level: These are the cheapest seats, way up high.
I’ve sat in all three levels before, but I wanted to really break it down this time. I remembered reading something about Premium Economy seating on airplanes. It got me thinking, is there a “Premium Economy” equivalent in a baseball stadium? A spot that’s not crazy expensive but still gives you a good view and maybe some extra perks?
So, I went down to the Rogers Centre on a non-game day. I wanted to walk around, check out the views from different sections, and see if I could find my sweet spot. I started with the 100 level, walking along the aisles, imagining the roar of the crowd and the crack of the bat. Sitting behind the visitors’ dugout, you can really look them in the eye and, you know, give them some friendly encouragement.
Then I headed up to the 200 level. I noticed that some sections are labeled “TD Comfort Zone.” I’m guessing that’s their version of Premium Economy. They had these padded seats, looked pretty comfy. Might be worth checking out for a future game.
Finally, I made my way to the 500 level. The view from up there is actually pretty cool, you can see the whole field, but you do feel pretty far away from the action. I did see that they have these “Flight Deck” standing-room tickets up there. That could be fun for a game with friends, a more social, less intense vibe.

My Conclusion
After my little adventure, I think I’ve narrowed down my preferred seating area. I’m leaning towards the 200 level, maybe those “TD Comfort Zone” seats, or somewhere in the lower rows of the 200s. I can get a good angle of the action without breaking the bank. Of course, if I’m feeling fancy, I might splurge on some 100-level seats behind home plate, just to say I did it. It is a dream to do it.
Anyway, that’s my Skydome seating investigation. I will go to a real game to see if it is what I expected next time.
