Okay, so I went to George Memorial Park the other day. It was a pretty spur-of-the-moment thing. I woke up, and the weather was just too gorgeous to stay inside. I needed to get out of the house.
I had heard about this park from a coworker. She mentioned that it has tons of flowers, and you know me, I am a sucker for some pretty flowers.
So, I grabbed my camera, put on some comfy shoes, and drove over there. Parking was a breeze, surprisingly. I found a spot right near the entrance.
First thing I did was just wander around, taking in the sights. Man, my coworker was right. This place is a flower paradise! They have these rose gardens that are just bursting with color. Reds, pinks, yellows, you name it. I spent a good chunk of time just snapping pictures of all the different varieties. I even tried to get some artsy close-up shots. I think a few of them turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.
The Maze
Then, I stumbled upon this hedge maze they have. I thought, “Why not?” and went in.
- It was surprisingly tricky!
- I got turned around a few times.
- But I eventually made it to the center.
Felt like a little victory, haha.
After the maze, I found a nice shady spot under a tree and just relaxed for a bit. I watched some kids playing tag, and some ducks were waddling around a pond. It was all very peaceful.
All in all, I’d say it was a successful outing. I got some fresh air, saw some beautiful flowers, and even got a little lost (in a good way). If you’re ever in the area, I definitely recommend checking out George Memorial Park. Just make sure you bring your camera!
