So, today I’m gonna talk about how I finally got my hands on a shiny Inkay. It’s been a real pain, let me tell you! I’ve been trying to get this little guy forever, and it felt like it was never gonna happen.

First off, I started by just running around in the grass where Inkay is supposed to show up. I spent hours doing this, just encountering Inkay after Inkay, hoping one would be shiny. No such luck. It was super boring, and I almost gave up like a million times.
My Plan of Attack
Then, I decided to get a bit more serious about it. Here’s what I did:
- Shiny Charm: I made sure I had the Shiny Charm. I already got it, but for those that don’t know, this thing is supposed to make shinies appear more often. Whether it really works or not, who knows, but I wasn’t taking any chances.
- Masuda Method: I got myself a foreign Ditto. The idea is that if you breed a Pokemon with a Ditto from another country, the chances of getting a shiny are supposed to be higher. Again, no idea if it’s true, but it sounded legit.
- Lots of Eggs: Then it was just a matter of getting a ton of Inkay eggs and hatching them. I’d fill up my boxes with eggs, fly over to the day-care, and just ride my bike back and forth until they hatched. It was the most exciting part, like, what if this one has the shiny?!
The Grind
This is where things got really tedious. I must have hatched hundreds of eggs. My thumb started to hurt from holding down the button on my controller. I even started doing it while watching TV, just to make the time pass a little faster. Sometimes I would get 5 eggs, other times I’d get a full party of eggs, hatch them, release the Inkay, and do it all again.
Finally!
And then, it happened. I was actually watching a show, just mindlessly hatching eggs, not even paying attention. I looked down, and there it was – a shiny Inkay! I couldn’t believe it. I practically jumped out of my chair. All that time and effort finally paid off! It is a greenish color instead of blue, but it’s still awesome. I quickly save the game about a hundred times, just to make sure I didn’t mess anything up.
So yeah, that’s my shiny Inkay story. It was a long and boring process, but totally worth it in the end. If you’re trying to get one yourself, just be prepared for a lot of grinding. And don’t give up, even when it feels like it’s never going to happen. Because trust me, when that shiny finally appears, it’s the best feeling ever!
