Okay, so “ken horses,” huh? Sounds simple enough, right? Well, let me tell you, my journey into figuring this out was a bit of a rollercoaster. I thought I’d be in and out, quick and easy. Boy, was I wrong!

It all started with me trying to help my niece, and a project about horse colors. So first I gotta figure out what my niece meant by the project, she is only six!
Figuring Out the Basics
First thing I did? I grabbed my phone and typed it and I start to read. I start sifting through this, trying to make sense of it all. I’m no horse expert, okay? I needed to get the basics down.
- Bay: I learned this is like a reddish-brown body with a black mane, tail, and lower legs. Easy enough.
- Chestnut: This one’s kind of a reddish color all over. Some are light, some are dark, but basically, they’re redheads. Got it.
- Black: Okay, this one’s self-explanatory. A black horse. Boom.
- Gray: These horses are born dark and get lighter as they age. Interesting.
- Palomino: This is like a golden-colored horse with a white or silver mane and tail. Kind of fancy!
Making it visual
Because of the age of my niece, I decided to collect pictures, It took some time.
I printed them all out, and I used glue to fix them.
The Final Presentation
After all that work, It worked perfectly! It’s rewarding!

So, yeah, that was my adventure with “ken horses.” It was more involved than I expected, but I learned a lot, and now I’m the family’s resident horse color expert. Who knew?
