Alright, so I wanted to put together a quick reference for the Sixers’ 2021 roster. I always find myself googling this stuff throughout the season, so I figured, why not just make my own little cheat sheet? And maybe it’ll help someone else out there too.
First, I pulled up the official NBA website. It’s usually pretty up-to-date, but sometimes it lags a bit behind trades and signings. So, I knew I needed to double-check things.
Main Guys:
- Joel Embiid: Obviously, the big fella. He was the heart and soul of the team.
- Ben Simmons: Okay, this was a complicated one. Even back then, it was…a situation. But, technically, he WAS on the roster.
- Tobias Harris: Solid, dependable, always putting in the work.
- Seth Curry: Sniper! Man, I loved watching him shoot.
- Tyrese Maxey: Still a young gun back then, but you could see the flashes of brilliance.
Then I jumped over to a couple of fan forums and blogs. I wanted to get a sense of the general consensus on the bench players, the guys who weren’t necessarily making headlines every night.
The Bench Mob
- Shake Milton: Always felt like he had the potential for more. Some big games, some quiet nights.
- Furkan Korkmaz: The Turkish Delight! Another shooter, sometimes hot, sometimes cold.
- Matisse Thybulle: Defensive beast! His offense was a work in progress, to say the least.
- Danny Green: The veteran presence. He’d been there, done that.
- Dwight Howard: Backup center, brought the energy, and the occasional technical foul.
I also checked out a few sports news sites just to make sure I hadn’t missed any last-minute roster changes or injuries. I needed to cross-reference the official site with the current scuttlebutt.
After I had the core guys and the key bench players down, I went back and added some notes about each player. Nothing too fancy, just a quick reminder of their strengths and weaknesses, or their role on the team.
