Gear Pattern Motorcycle: Get the Best Looks for Your Bike

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to customize my bike’s look for a while now. I finally decided to tackle the gear pattern – you know, that 1-N-2-3-4-5-6 thing. Thought it would be a cool, subtle mod.

Finding the Right Design

First, I spent some time just looking online for inspiration. I checked out a bunch of forums and biker blogs, saw what other people had done. I found some really intricate designs, and some pretty basic ones. I wanted something in the middle – clean, but not boring.

Prepping the Surface

Once I had a general idea, I got to work on the bike. I made sure the area where I was going to put the pattern was super clean. I used some degreaser and a good ol’ rag to wipe it down. Gotta make sure there’s no grime or anything that’ll mess up the paint or sticker, whatever I decided to use.

Choosing the Method

This was the tricky part. I considered a few options:

  • Paint: Looked cool, but I’m no artist. Worried I’d mess it up.
  • Sticker/Decal: Easier, but might not last as long, especially with weather and washing.
  • Engraving: Super permanent, but definitely not something I could do myself.

I ended up going with a high-quality vinyl decal. Seemed like the best balance of looks, durability, and my (lack of) skill.

Applying the Decal. Oh Boy.

I ordered the decal online – a simple, black gear pattern. When it arrived, I laid it out on the bike to get a feel for the placement. Then, I slowly peeled off the backing, making sure to keep the decal from sticking to itself. That would have been a disaster.

I carefully positioned the decal, starting from one end and smoothing it out as I went. I used a credit card to push out any air bubbles. It took a bit of patience, but I managed to get it on there without any major wrinkles or bubbles.

The Final Result

Honestly, it looks pretty awesome! It’s exactly the kind of subtle customization I was going for. It adds a little personality to the bike without being too flashy. And if I ever get tired of it, I can just peel it off. Now, the only problem, I think, is the color, I don’t like black, I will try white or red next time.

I will try some new desgin next month. Wish me have a good job. LOL.
