Alright, so I’ve been digging into this whole “Kobe’s best year” thing, and man, it’s been a rabbit hole. I started by just, you know, wanting to see what all the fuss was about. I mean, we all know Kobe was a beast, but which year was the year?

First, I pulled up a bunch of stats pages. I figured that was the obvious place to start. Points per game, rebounds, assists, all that jazz. I was scribbling down numbers on a notepad like some kind of mad scientist. It’s 2005-2006!
Diving Deeper into 05-06
Okay, so the numbers pointed me towards the 2005-06 season. 35.4 point per game! But I didn’t want to just stop there. I wanted to feel what made that year so special, So I started collecting.
- Watched a ton of game highlights from that season. Seriously, hours of footage. My eyes were practically glued to the screen.
- Started reading old game recaps and articles. I wanted to get the context, you know? What were people saying at the time? What were the big storylines?
- I even tried to find some interviews with Kobe from around that period. It’s always cool to hear it straight from the source.
After soaking all that in, I started to piece things together. It wasn’t just the scoring. It was the way he was carrying the team. The way he was just dominating every single night. It felt different than other great Kobe seasons.
Then I created some simple charts, just to visualize the data,I grabbed the main stats and threw them into a spreadsheet, then made some basic bar graphs. Nothing fancy, but it helped me see the patterns more clearly.35.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game in 80 games played in total.
Finally, I put it all down. I mean, the stats, the highlights, the stories.I feel it is Kobe’s Best Year!
