Okay, so today I decided to dive into the topic of San Antonio Spurs rivals. It’s something I’ve been meaning to look into for a while, so I finally got around to it.
First, I started by just brainstorming. Like, who do I feel like are the Spurs’ biggest rivals? Obviously, the Dallas Mavericks came to mind immediately. That’s a classic Texas rivalry, you know? Then I thought about the Los Angeles Lakers, remembering those epic playoff battles from back in the day.
Then I started searching on google, and I find a few articles listing main rivals for spurs.
Then,I made a list for myself, with some notes:
- Dallas Mavericks: In-state rivals, lots of regular season and playoff matchups, always a heated game. I remember all those games where Dirk and Timmy went head to head. Always competitive.
- Los Angeles Lakers: This one goes way back. So many playoff series, so much history. Think of those Duncan-Shaq, Duncan-Kobe battles. Can’t forget those.
The main point is, the Spurs have had some intense rivalries over the years. Whether it’s the in-state showdowns with the Mavericks, or the classic playoff battles against teams like the Lakers, there’s always a bit of extra fire when these teams meet.
