Okay, so I’ve been wanting to build a little cart to haul stuff around the yard. You know, for moving tools, dirt, that kind of thing. I saw some fancy ones online, but I figured I could probably slap something together myself. I decided to go with a three-wheel design – two in the back, one in the front. Seemed simple enough.

Getting Started
First, I needed some wheels. I found some old ones in my shed, they are not in pairs, but they can be used, So, I cleaned them up and made sure they spun okay. The axle part I made from a strong iron bar.
Building the Frame
Next up, the frame. I’m no carpenter, but I can handle some basic stuff. I used metal pipes, because this will be a lot easier for me. Cut them into the length I want, and started welding, I connected the front wheel’s axle to this frame, making sure it could swivel for easy turning.
The Cart Bed
For the cart bed, I used a big, tough piece of metal plate. I cut it out and put it to the frame, making sure it was all good, and then I welded the support under the metal plate to make it strong.
Putting it All Together
With the frame and bed sorted, it was time to put it all together. I welded, and welded, and reinforced. It ain’t pretty, but it’s solid.
I took it for a spin, and it worked and all that’s left is to paint it.

I use it all the time. Seriously, it makes yard work so much easier. And hey, I built it myself, which is pretty cool.
