Okay, so today I decided to look into this “Alfonso Zayas” character. I’d heard the name, maybe seen a picture or two, but I really didn’t know much about him. It was time to change that!

So, after spending a good chunk of time researching, reading (well, translating and reading), and watching, I feel like I have a much better understanding of Alfonso Zayas.
He was a prolific actor, a big name in Mexican cinema, and a key figure in a specific genre of comedy. It’s always cool to learn about these cultural icons, even if it takes a bit of extra effort to navigate the language barrier.
