Okay, so I’ve been wanting to mess around with the Bears’ retro uniforms for a while, and I finally got around to doing it. I’m a huge fan of the classic looks, you know? So, I wanted to see if I could recreate them, maybe even tweak them a little.

Getting Started
First, I dug up a bunch of old photos. I mean, a ton of them. Game photos, promotional shots, everything I could find. Gotta have good references, right? I spent a good hour or two just scrolling through images, trying to get a feel for the different eras and styles.
The Details
Next, I started breaking down the key elements. You know, the obvious stuff:
- The Colors: That classic navy blue and orange. Gotta get the shades just right.
- The Helmet: The iconic ‘C’ logo. Simple, but powerful.
- The Jerseys: The stripes on the sleeves, the numbers, the font… everything matters.
- The Pants: Usually white, sometimes with stripes. Gotta see what works.
I started playing around with some basic shapes. Then added stripes, and made a simple circle for the helmet logo, and some blocky numbers for the jersey. It was all pretty rough, I tried to make it look like old jersey numbers, all blocky and stuff.
I played with a few of the color combos from the different photos I saw, and I changed some of those stripes.
The Final Result (For Now!)
I’m still tweaking things here and there, but I’m pretty happy with how it’s looking. It definitely captures that old-school Bears vibe, which is exactly what I was going for.

This whole thing was a fun little project. It really made me appreciate the history of the team’s look. I had a bunch of photos and made something out of them!
