Hey everyone, let’s chat about my trip to Cadwell Park last weekend. I’ve been tracking this season’s races for months, jotting down dates in my crappy notebook that’s always covered in coffee stains. Finally packed my gear Thursday night – folding chair, earplugs, that bulky camera lens – and drove up Friday morning.

First stop was the paddock area around 10 AM Saturday. I wandered between trailers, smelling burnt rubber and burger vans. Massive car meet happening near the mountain section – owners polishing vintage Minis while mechanics yelled over engine revs. Snapped pics of this bright orange Ford Escort that nearly scraped the tarmac.
Race Experiences Breakdown
- Classic Bike Championship: Got sunburnt watching these 70s bikes wobble through Coppice corner. One dude in leathers nearly highsided but saved it – crowd went nuts!
- BTCC Support Race: Sunday’s main event. Stood at Barn corner where three cars went bumper-to-bumper through the dip. Could feel the exhaust vibrations in my chest.
- Superkarts: Accidentally caught these while hunting for ice cream. Tiny open-wheel rockets zipping under trees like angry hornets. Mental!
The highlight? That tricky section called The Mountain. Climbed the spectator hill Saturday afternoon to watch bikes catching air. One Suzuki launched so high I thought the rider would bail – landed perfectly with front wheel still spinning. My camera caught the exact moment grass clumps flew from his rear tire.
Honestly regretted wearing thin sneakers though. After eight hours on concrete, my feet felt like over-cooked noodles. Next time I’m stuffing hiking boots in that duffel bag, lessons learned.
