Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this game called Lethal Company lately, and I gotta say, it’s pretty intense. The whole vibe of scavenging for scrap on these abandoned moons while trying to avoid getting eaten by creepy crawlies is just chef’s kiss. But you know what really makes it for me? That old-school monitor that shows you the map and where your teammates are. It’s such a cool little detail, and I wanted to see if I could tweak it a bit.

So, I started poking around in the game files, just kinda seeing what’s what. I’m no expert coder or anything, but I’ve dabbled a bit in modding other games. I figured, how hard could it be to just switch up some images or colors on that monitor, right?
I spent a good few hours just digging through folders and files, trying to find anything that looked like it was related to that monitor display. I was clicking around, opening up different files, just totally lost in the sauce, you know?
Then, bingo! I stumbled upon a folder that seemed promising. It had a bunch of image files, and some of them looked like parts of the monitor interface. I got all excited, thinking I had finally cracked the code. I started swapping out some of these images with my own, just some random stuff I made in a basic image editor. Nothing fancy, just wanted to see if it would actually work.
- First step: Locate game files.
- Second step: Browse through folders, searching for anything related to the monitor display.
- Third step: Find a folder with image files, some of which resemble the monitor interface.
- Fourth step: Replace existing images with custom-made ones.
The Outcome
I saved my changes, booted up the game, and held my breath. And you know what? It actually worked! I mean, it wasn’t perfect. Some of the images were all messed up and stretched out, and it looked pretty janky overall. But still! My custom images were showing up on the monitor in-game! I was so pumped, I even recorded a small clip to show to my friend.
It might not seem like much, but it felt like a huge win for me. It just goes to show that even if you don’t have a ton of experience, you can still have fun tinkering around and making something your own. I’m definitely going to keep playing around with this. Maybe I’ll try to clean up those images, or maybe even figure out how to change the colors and fonts. Who knows? The possibilities seem endless now. Anyway, just wanted to share my little adventure. Maybe it’ll inspire someone else to try their hand at modding, even if it’s just a small thing like changing the monitor in Lethal Company. It’s a fun challenge, and you might surprise yourself with what you can do!
