Okay, so I wanted to mess around with creating a fictional basketball team, and I thought, “Why not the Sacramento Knights?” It sounded cool, and I’ve always liked Sacramento as a city. Plus, they already have the Kings, so “Knights” felt like a fun, related name.
First, I brainstormed some ideas. I needed a logo, team colors, and maybe even some basic player concepts. I started sketching in my notebook – nothing fancy, just some rough ideas. I pictured a knight’s helmet, maybe a sword, and possibly a chessboard pattern (because of the strategic aspect of the game, get it?).
For colors, I thought about royal purple, silver, and maybe a touch of black. Purple and silver seemed like classic knight colors, and the black would add a bit of a modern edge.
Logo Design
I doodled a few different helmet designs. Some were too detailed, others too simple. I finally settled on a stylized helmet with a slightly aggressive look, but not over-the-top. I added a subtle chessboard pattern to the visor area.
- First attempt: Too complicated, looked like a Transformer.
- Second attempt: Too plain, looked like a bucket.
- Third attempt: Just right! Aggressive but sleek.
Then I moved on to the jersey concepts. I imagined a simple, clean design with the knight’s helmet logo prominently displayed. I played around with different stripe patterns on the sides, eventually deciding on a single, thick silver stripe bordered by thinner black stripes.
For players.I didn’t go too crazy with detail.I just want a very powerful forward and a smart point guard.
It was a fun little project! I’m no graphic designer, but it was cool to bring this fictional team to life, even if it’s just in my head (and my notebook, and a few simple image files).
