Okay, so I saw this interesting title floating around today – “Braves Jared Jones Trade Proposal.” Got me thinking, could the Braves actually pull off a deal for the Pirates’ young stud, Jared Jones? I figured I’d dive in and see what a realistic trade package might look like, just for fun.

My Thought Process and Proposal Building
First, I jumped over to see his stats. Damn, the kid’s dealing! We’re talking about a young, controllable, and high-potential pitcher – that’s gonna cost a pretty penny, prospects-wise.
The Braves, though, they’ve got a pretty stocked farm system. So, I started to think about the player. It is a good player but it is hard to get.
Next, I started thinking about the Braves’ needs. They could definitely use another strong arm in the rotation, especially with some injury concerns. Jones fits that bill perfectly.
- Potential Trade Piece #1: Maybe a top-tier pitching prospect.
- Potential Trade Piece #2: A position player, high upside, but maybe blocked at the major league level.
- Potential Trade Piece #3: Add in a lower-level prospect, someone with a good tool, a lottery ticket.
I played around with different combinations. It’s tough to gauge exact value, because every team values prospects differently. You know, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and all that.
I tried, you know, go through the list to find, who could be a realistic option? Someone the Pirates might actually want. Someone the Braves would realistically part with.

Finally, I put it all together. A core of a top-100ish pitching prospect, plus a solid offensive prospect, and a throw-in. That feels like it’s in the ballpark, right? Maybe. It’s all just speculation anyway.
It’s a fun exercise though. Makes you think about the complexities of building a contender, and how teams might try to make a splash at the trade deadline. Whether the Braves actually go after Jones, who knows? But if they do, it’ll cost them.
