Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of “British Trucks.” I’ve always been fascinated by these big rigs, so I figured, why not spend the day learning more about them?

First, I started by watching some videos. Just casual stuff, you know, dashcam footage, trucking vlogs, that sort of thing. I wanted to get a feel for what it’s like to drive these things on those narrow British roads.
Then, I spent some time looking at pictures. Lots of pictures. Different makes, models, you name it. I noticed that they look quite a bit different from American trucks – a bit more compact, maybe?
My Little Research Project
- Browsed some online forums. Lots of passionate truck enthusiasts over there! I read through some threads about favorite models, common problems, and even some heated debates about which brand is the best.
- Checked out a few manufacturer websites. Scania, DAF, Volvo… they all have a presence in the UK, it seems. I looked at some specs, just to get an idea of engine sizes, load capacities, and all that technical stuff.
After that, I dug a bit deeper. I wanted to understand the different types of British trucks. It seems like there are “artics” (articulated lorries), “rigids,” and all sorts of specialized vehicles for different jobs.
Honestly, it was a pretty chill day of learning. I didn’t become an expert, by any means. But I definitely gained a new appreciation for these workhorses of the British roads. And it was fun to just explore something new, just for the heck of it!
