So, I recently found out that I have this thing called celiac disease. It’s basically a problem with my tummy when I eat something called “gluten”.

It all started with me feeling pretty awful after eating. I’d get really bad stomach pains, and things just weren’t, uh, moving smoothly, if you know what I mean. I figured it was just something I ate, but it kept happening again and again.
My friend told me that maybe it was related to gluten, and I remembered hearing something about it, so I decided to look it up. Turns out, there’s this whole thing called celiac disease where your body basically freaks out when you eat gluten.
I decided to try cutting out gluten from my diet. It was not easy, let me tell you! Gluten is in so many things! I couldn’t even eat some bread or some pasta. And if you go to some restaurants, it is very hard to find something that is gluten-free.
But, after a few weeks, I started to feel a bit better. My stomach wasn’t hurting as much, and things were, well, more regular. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely an improvement. Then a doctor told me that I should do some tests to check if I really have this disease or not.
So I did the blood tests. One of them is called serology testing, which basically checks for these things called antibodies in your blood. Apparently, if you have celiac disease, you have more of these antibodies when you eat gluten because your body is trying to fight it off.

Well, the test came back positive. The doctor said my antibody levels were high, which pretty much confirmed that I have celiac disease. He said that I need to stay away from gluten for the rest of my life. But after 6 months to 2 years, maybe my symptoms will disappear. I really hope so.
It’s kind of a bummer because I love bread, pasta, and all those delicious things. But, feeling better is more important, right? So now, I’m on this whole gluten-free journey.
- It’s a learning process, that’s for sure.
- I’m getting better at reading food labels and finding gluten-free alternatives.
- There are actually some pretty good gluten-free products out there, but they can be a bit more expensive.
It’s definitely a big change, but I’m figuring it out. And hey, at least I’m not feeling like a complete mess after every meal anymore!
I’ll keep you guys updated on how it goes.
If any of you have experience with this celiac thing, please share your tips! I could definitely use some advice.
