Watched the Celtics and Cavs battle it out last night for Game 2, just like I usually do with playoffs. Grabbed some snacks, settled into the couch, and got ready.

First Quarter Vibes
Turned the game on right at tip-off. Celtics came out firing, you know? Seemed like they wanted to make a point early. Jayson Tatum hit a couple shots, looked aggressive. But then Cleveland started hitting back. Darius Garland was moving FAST. Honestly? Felt like the Celtics were letting them hang around too much. Shoulda built a bigger lead right there.
Halftime Head Scratcher
Halftime rolled around and the score was close. Too close for comfort. Made me think:
- Why wasn’t our defense tighter? Cavs were getting way too many open looks.
- Tatum seemed… off. Missing shots he usually makes.
- Cleveland just looked hungrier for rebounds.
Needed a strong second half push.
Third Quarter Woes
Man. Rough start. Celtics offense got super sloppy. Turnovers popped up like crazy – lazy passes, bad decisions. Cavs pounced on every single one. Every time Boston tried to string together a run, Cleveland answered right back. Evan Mobley was everywhere, blocking shots and causing problems. Started yelling at the TV a bit, won’t lie. Needed somebody to step up.

Fourth Quarter Fight (Kinda)
JB tried to put the team on his back. Jaylen Brown attacked the basket hard, got to the line. Little spark. Derrick White hit a big three. Got hopeful for a second! But the hole was just too deep. Defense would get a stop, then the Celtics offense would sputter again. Every possession felt like pulling teeth. Cavs hit some tough shots late, credit to them. Game just slipped away. Ended up yelling at the TV again when Tatum missed that layup late. Frustrating finish.
Main Stuff I’m Taking From Last Night
Here’s what stuck with me after watching:
- Turnovers killed us. Gifted Cleveland easy points way too many times. Gotta take care of the ball better. That’s on everyone.
- Rebounding battle was lost. Especially early. Cavs got extra chances we couldn’t afford to give them. More effort needed on the glass Saturday.
- Tatum needs to find his rhythm faster. Looked out of sync all game.
- Credit to Cleveland’s defense. They made everything difficult, especially on Tatum. Switched well, contested everything.
- JB was the bright spot. Aggressive, efficient. Gotta get him more involved from the jump.
- Need that killer instinct. Had chances to pull away early and bury them, didn’t do it.
Not panicking, it’s a series for a reason. But Game 3 gotta be way cleaner.
