The Day Clash Verge Re Broke on Me
Woke up this morning, opened Clash Verge Re like always. Nothing happened. Dead silence. My browser wouldn’t load any pages either, like my whole internet just froze. Felt that “oh crap” moment crawling up my spine.

First Moves When Things Crash
First thing I did? Slammed that restart button in Clash Verge Re’s dashboard. Nothing changed. Then I rebooted my whole PC – twice. Still staring at a broken connection. Frustrating as heck.
-
What I tried next:
- Checked system tray icon – it showed red cross mark
- Switched between different proxy modes: global, rule, direct – all useless
- Manually hit the “connect” button until my finger cramped
Digging Deeper into the Mess
Opened Clash Verge’s log tab and saw constant “connection refused” errors flashing like crazy. Google searches showed others getting this junk too. Realized I had upgraded Windows recently – probably messed things up.
Went hunting in settings:
- Disabled “Auto Launch”
- Toggled “System Proxy” off then on
- Killed background processes related to proxies
Still dead.

The Lightbulb Moment
Suddenly remembered my virus fighter updated yesterday. Turned off real-time protection completely for one minute. Boom! Clash Verge instantly connected like nothing happened. That sneaky antivirus was blocking it!
My Permanent Fix
Added all Clash Verge folders to antivirus exception list. Re-enabled protection. Tested connection through five different servers. Everything worked perfect. Lesson learned: always suspect your security software first when proxies die.
Now everything’s humming smooth again. Took me two angry hours but feels great when you smash through tech problems. If your Clash crashes, go poke your antivirus before you smash anything.
