Okay, so let me tell you about this little project I took on called “club de deportes santa cruz.” Basically, it was about revamping their online presence. They needed a fresh look, something that screamed “modern” and “we’re active!”
First things first: Research. I dove deep into what other sports clubs were doing online. I looked at their websites, their social media, everything. I wanted to see what worked, what didn’t, and what was just plain boring.
Then, I sat down with the club’s board. Man, those guys had opinions! They had this image of what they wanted, but it was kinda…stuck in the past. My job was to gently nudge them into the 21st century.
Next up: Wireframing. I sketched out a rough layout of the new website. Where the photos would go, where the news would be, where the contact info lived. Nothing fancy, just a blueprint.
After the wireframes got the thumbs-up, it was time for the design phase. I played around with colors, fonts, and layouts until I found something that felt right. Something energetic but also professional. They were big on their club colors, so I made sure to incorporate those prominently.
Coding time! I started building the website from the ground up. HTML, CSS, JavaScript – the whole shebang. I made sure it was responsive, so it looked good on phones, tablets, and desktops.
Then, came the content. Photos, videos, news articles, schedules – it was a lot. I worked with the club members to gather all the info and put it in a way that was easy to read and engaging.
Social media was the next beast. We built them a strategy. Regular posts, engaging content, behind-the-scenes stuff. Aiming for more community interaction, that was key.
After what felt like forever, it was time to launch! We pushed the new website live and started promoting it on social media. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but also super exciting.
The feedback was pretty positive! People loved the new look and feel. They said it was much easier to find the information they needed.
But the work wasn’t over. I stayed on board for a few months to monitor the website and social media, making tweaks and adjustments as needed. Gotta keep things fresh!
Overall, it was a challenging but rewarding project. I learned a ton about web design, social media marketing, and working with clients. And, of course, I helped a local sports club get a much-needed online makeover. Not bad, eh?
