Okay, so, today I wanna talk about this thing called “Combate Americas.” It’s all about mixed martial arts, you know, MMA. I’ve been following them for a bit now, and I thought I’d share my little journey with you guys.
First off, I stumbled upon Combate Americas when I was browsing through some sports channels. I think it was last year. I saw these fighters going at it, and I was like, “Whoa, this is intense!” The energy was crazy, and the fact that it focused on Hispanic fighters really caught my eye. I’m all about seeing different cultures represented, you know?

So, I started digging a little deeper. I found out that this guy, Campbell McLaren, he’s the big boss man, started Combate Americas back in 2011. I guess he saw a gap in the market for a promotion that really catered to the Hispanic audience. Smart move, I gotta say.
Then, I got into their reality show. Yeah, they had this competition series where fighters from different weight classes would battle it out. It was like a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make it in the MMA world. I watched all the episodes. All of them!
But here’s the cool part: they have this thing called “Copa Combate.” It’s like this huge tournament, all in one night. Eight fighters, one winner, and the prize? A cool $100,000! Imagine that! Each fighter represents their country, and the whole thing is just a big celebration of talent and national pride.

I remember reading somewhere that Combate Americas was gonna start up again in August 2024, after a break. They did some closed-set events in Miami. It was cool that they’re still making the events happen, even though they had to change it all up.
They even did some interactive events, and I got to feel more like a part of it all even though I’m watching from home. I tried to get my friends into it, but they are just not as into fighting as I am. I was like “Come on people! It’s not just fighting, it’s about skill!” but they didn’t get it. Their loss.
