Cultivate an Adventurous Spirit: A Beginners Guide to Excitement.

Okay, so today’s big thing was all about embracing my “adventurous spirit.” I’ve been feeling kinda stuck in a rut lately, same old routine, you know? So, I decided, no more! Time to shake things up.

First thing I did? I ditched my usual morning coffee run. Sounds small, but it’s a start. Instead, I walked to that little park a few blocks away, the one I always drive past. Never actually been there before.

  • Found a sunny spot.
  • Just sat and listened to the birds.
  • Weirdly relaxing.

Trying Something Totally New

Next up, food. I’m a creature of habit, I eat the same stuff, go to the same places. Not today! I googled “weirdest restaurant near me.” Don’t ask me why, I was feeling adventurous!

Ended up at this tiny Ethiopian place. Never had Ethiopian food before. The menu was, well, let’s just say I didn’t recognize anything. I closed my eyes, pointed at something, and ordered it. No idea what I was getting.

Turns out, it was called “Kitfo”. Raw beef, spiced up. Yeah, RAW. My inner voice was screaming, but my adventurous spirit was like, “Bring it on!” And you know what? It was…interesting. Definitely different. Not sure I’d order it again, but hey, I tried it!

Spontaneous, baby.

The final test of my newfound adventurousness? Talking to a stranger. I’m a little bit shy. Always have been. The rule was simple: the stranger had to talk to me.

While I was in that Ethopian resturant, the guy next to me asked if I’d ever had that raw beef stuff. And We just start chatting. Turns out, he’s a photographer, travels all over. Super interesting. We talked for like an hour. Swapped numbers. Who knows, maybe I’ll have a new friend.

So, yeah, that was my day of adventure. Small steps, maybe, but it felt good. Felt…free. I’m gonna try to do this more often. Get out of my comfort zone, try new things, talk to new people. It’s kinda scary, but also kinda awesome.
